The Ki4469A1 Shoal flipper by Kizer Cutlery is an in-house design by Kim Ning and it's very difficult to find anything thing wrong with this knife. The action, lockup, ergonomics, materials, and aesthetics are all on point and the size is perfect for both EDC and tactical usage. When buffeted by current from all sides on the river of daily life, the Shoal (the sandbar) will stand against the tide and bring you a harbor of stability and balance. It features a 3.57" CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade with a gorgeous drop point shape. This folder has a stubby, yet streamlined look and a comfortable feel in the hand and pocket. The bearing pivot system allows for smooth blade opening, as with all Kizer knives. The matte silver finished titanium handle is slim and milled in an Anso-like pattern for added grip. Every surface and every edge are contoured for comfort so there are no hot-spots and it gives the knife a very high-class feel and look with the blue anodized hardware. This is a great sized folder for every task and is built with a quality anyone can appreciate. It comes with a tip-up carry pocket clip that is reversible for lefties. With over 20 years in the knife industry under his belt, Kim Ning is a veritable veteran when it comes to bringing his designs to life. Whether creating intricate folders or rugged fixed blades, Kim's devotion to attention shows thoroughly in each minute detail of his design.
Kizer uses high-tech wire EDM machines to cut the parts. This method is slower than laser or water jet but Kizer feels quality is worth the wait. Each component in Kizer knives is precision machined and engineered to the finest tolerances. The final fit, finish, action, and sharpness of each knife is achieved entirely by hand, employing the irreplaceable craftsmanship developed by generations of cutlery masters. Dedicated craftsman honoring the long-term goal of making the best knives possible is what Kizer brings to you.
